This is traditional media with layers and layers of photoshoped newspaper and photographs on top (I take no credit for the photographs/newspapers, I randomly found them over the interwebs, I wasn't alive in the 1900's sorry about that). So, well.
This is, at lack of a better word for it, a sketch - I plan on doing a much more elaborated thing whenever I get the time, since I get such a kick out of these XIX century themes and pseudo-classical triangular compositions; squint and you'll see lady liberty reincarnated in a newsboy! yes, right there, can't get anymore blatant.

obrigada! eu confesso que tenho uma certa preocupação em desenhar coisas que envolvam muita emoção, ando sempre com aquele medo de fazer as coisas parecer ridículas ou de diminuir o impacto que é suposto ter. usei carvão vegetal, aguarelas e láis de cera para alguns contornos : )
